Benefits of Portugal Residency

• You are eligible for Full Portuguese Passport & EU Residency in five years, noting this would ultimately require some proof of actual commitment to residency and limited local language skills.

No Relocation  Required

• No need to fully relocate to Portugal during the five year initial residency period, current regulations state you only need visit a minimum of once every two years (although in practice you’ll want to go much more).

Helpful Tax Structure

• Under this program, no tax is liable in Portugal on non-Portuguese income. The Non-Habitual Resident scheme (NHR) is also part of the very expat friendly tax structure which is available should you relocate and/or become a tax resident.

• Immediate freedom of movement within EU, there are also plans to produce an EU Travel card for UK nationals who are resident in the EU prior to full Brexit.
• Eligible for an EU Health Card, allowing access to state medical treatment throughout Europe.
• No immediate mandatory purchase of property or other local investment, thus a much easier and cheaper option particularly for those still undecided on their future.
